Longinus
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
This article is about the Custodian; for the Battle Barge, see Longinus (Battle Barge). |
Longinus (full name and title: Xavier Aldamenion Lassid Longinus Aduprehiah Consultori) is a Centurion of the Adeptus Custodes.[1]
A member of the Companions, Longinus was the one who took Alicia Dominica before the Emperor during the Age of Apostasy. In the Age of the Dark Imperium he was still alive and worked with Saint Celestine and Inquisitor Greyfax to halt the machinations of the Tyrant of Blueflame on Terra, San Leor, and Ophelia VII. He was ultimately forced to kill Saint Celestine to prevent her from becoming possessed by the Tyrant of Blueflame. However much to his relief Celestine was instantly reborn.[1]
Trivia
- The character is possibly named for Longinus, an ancient Roman soldier who, according to Christian mythology, stabbed the body of Jesus Christ as the latter was crucified.
Notes
- The Horus Heresy-era Custodian Amon Tauromachian received the name Longinus during the Siege of Terra. It is unknown if this is the same individual.
