Malal (nickname: The Renegade God) is the fifth of Chaos Gods (The other four are Khorne Tzeentch Nurgle and Slaanesh). He is the God of vengeance, and all who have suffered a great injustice may turn their souls to the Chaos in the form of Malal7. He explains the absolute destruction of Chaos during war by the other Chaos gods (and himself)1 p.210.
His champions who had been selected (The Damned) are powerful loner, which fight the Chosen of other deities, and even other supporters of Malal.
Malal is described as both wolf and crocodile-like, and yet it retains a humanoid form. It is said that Malal has six fingers on each hand and three eyes on his head5, and that its bite is reminiscent of that of lions, sharks, cows and rats6.
The color scheme of his followers is black and white halves. His symbol is a skull vertically split with a half black and the other white. The skull may be realistic, stylized or even bestial6.

Malal in Warhammer 40000 universe
Malal was originally created for the Warhammer Fantasy universe. For Warhammer 40,000 he was never officially announced in any manner. The only fact which proves its existence in Warhammer 40,000 is that the book Realm of Chaos - Slaves to Darkness from 1988 explains that these two worlds are connected (the WHF World is thus caught in a warp storm in the WH40k universe), so it transfers Malal to the WH40k universe. On the other hand, it is unclear whether Malal is still officially part of the WHF, as no mention of him has been made since 1987.3 The reason for this disappearance are purely technical, because the rights are not Games Workshop property, but Malal's inventors, the two cartoonists, Wagner and Grant.
Background fan and survival of Malal
The official Malal disappearance surely didn't make him disappeared from the minds of the fans. Since then, most fantastic rumors and false information on Malal are circulating on the Internet.
Even Games Workshop apparently decided after many years to devote some homages Malal, without directly making use of his name. Examples of this are the striking color scheme of the Sons of Malice or Daemon Weapon Dreadaxe - the name of the weapon of a champion in the WHF world and the weapon of Kaleb Daark6 - as a piece of equipment for Chaos Space Marines4.
The reference of the Sons of Malice let us think Malal and Malice are the same god.
