Malcador (Heavy Tank)
From Lexicanum
The Malcador is a Heavy Tank used by the Imperial Guard. It is older than the Leman Russ and slightly bigger, counting as a Heavy Tank. Since production has switched to the better Leman Russ, the Malcador has fallen out of production. Many forces have them, but often they are unused due to an unreliable engine and high weight. It is named after Malcador the Sigillite, a shadowy figure known for the creation of the Administratum as well as being a close advisor to the Emperor.
There are several modifications:
|
Malcador - is armed with a Battle Cannon on main limited-traverse turret and with a hull-mounted Autocannon or Lascannon. It is effective against armored targets at close range. |
|
Malcador 'Defender' - is armed with a hull-mounted Demolisher Cannon and five Heavy Bolters on the top. It is effective against infantry and buildings. |
|
Malcador 'Annihilator' - is armed with twin-linked Lascannons on main limited-traverse turret and with a hull-mounted Demolisher Cannon. It is effective against armored targets at close range and buildings. |
All variations are also armed with sponson-mounted Lascannons.
