Mars Triumphant was a Baneblade Super-Heavy Tank[1a] of the 7th Paragonian Super-heavy Tank Company.[1b]

History

Mars Triumphant was produced on Mars in 639.M39. Its number was 47-9372.[1a]

By 397.M41, Mars Triumphant had become part of the 7th Paragonian Super-heavy Tank Company. The tank was commanded by Honoured Lieutenant Marken Cortein Lo Bannick during the war on Kalidar IV against the orks of Waaagh! Gratzdakka.[1b]

At one point in the war, a number of Astra Militarum Regiments were deployed on the Kostoval Flats in an attempt to relieve the ork siege of the mining complex of Urta.[1b][1c] The 7th Paragonian Super-heavies formed the heart of Formation Beta (a Solon's Axe formation) during the advance.[1c] However, the Imperial forces were ambushed by the orks as they travelled across the Flats; mobs of Tankbustas and a number of Stompas and Gargants, including a Witch Engine.[1c][1d] Despite the efforts of the 7th Paragonian, the Imperials were unable to penetrate the psychic forcefields protecting the Witch Engine and were forced to retreat.[1d][1e] Mars Triumphant was damaged by the Engine during the retreat but was saved by the efforts of a number of Paragonian Leman Russ Battle Tanks under the command of Lieutenant Colaron Artem Lo Bannick.[1e]

In the subsequent battles with the greenskins on Kalidar, the vehicle was destroyed, but not before taking an Ork Gargant with it.[1g]
