List of Battles of the Thousand Sons
Unification Era
The Boeotian Conflict
M30:
The rulers of the area of Terra known as Boeotia managed to diplomatically avoid full Unification with the Imperium even into the years of the Great Crusade. Finally tiring of their laxity, the Emperor ordered the military annexation of the nation. After the initial, Imperial Army-led campaign slowed to a crawl, the Thousand Sons were sent in to ensure a quick conclusion to events.[1a]
The Great Crusade
The Kamenka Troika campaign
M30:
The Kamenka Troika is the collective name for the three satellite worlds of the planet Kamenka Ulizarna, an Adeptus Mechanicus fiefdom. The Thousand Sons freed the Troika from a Greenskin infestation during the middle years of the Great Crusade.[2a]
The Battle of the Mountain
999.M30:
The Battle of the Mountain was the final (and first violent) act in the successful compliance action on the world of 28-16/Aghoru. Forces from the Thousand Sons (including Magnus the Red), and the Space Wolves, defeated apparently corrupted Eldar Titans and other malign entities.[2b]
The Battle of Shrike
001.M31:
Towards the end of the pacification of the Ark Reach Cluster, the Thousand Sons of the 28th Expedition Fleet were added to the Imperial order of battle. They took part in the compliance of the last two worlds in the Cluster, and played a significant role in the last battle, to secure the world of Heliosa, nicknamed Shrike.[2c]
The Battle of Prospero
004.M31:
As a result of the actions of their Primarch, and outside arch-manipulation of surrounding events, the homeworld of the Thousand Sons was targeted for a full-scale planetary invasion by forces of the Space Wolves, Adeptus Custodes and Sisters of Silence. The Thousand Sons legion took roughly 90% casualties and fled Imperial space as a result.[2d]
The Horus Heresy
The Battle of Terra
014.M31:
The Thousand Sons took part in the Siege of the Emperor's Palace, at the very end of the Horus Heresy. As with all Chaos forces, they retreated at the battle's end.[3a]
Post-Heresy
The First Battle of Garm
M31:
Not long after the Space Wolves became a Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes, the Thousand Sons fought with them on a world that was subsequently named Garm, after the Wolf Lord who intervened in a duel between Magnus the Red and Leman Russ, saving the Wolf King's life at the cost of his own. The Thousand Sons retreated from the battle.[4a]
The Battle of the Fang
M32:
The Thousand Sons continued their vendetta against the Space Wolves by launching their own planetary invasion, this time against the Space Wolves' homeworld of Fenris. Both sides were badly mauled, but the battle is considered a victory for the Imperial Space Marines, as the Thousand Sons are driven off and never again take to the field in legion-strength.[5]
The Feral War
112.M33:
A combined force of the Adeptus Mechanicus and Relictors Chapter Space Marines are wiped out by Thousand Sons Rubricae left to guard an important site to the sorcerers on the world of Aggaros.[6a]
The War in the Webway
579.M37: A coven of Thousand Sons attempt to access Commorragh, and combat hundreds of Dark Eldar as a result.[7]
