Ordinatus Mars[1a]

The Ordinatus Mars, known as the bringer of woe is the designation of a type of Ordinatus engine used by the Mechanicum.[1a]

Overview

The Ordinatus Mars was built by loyalist Mechanicum forces on Mars during the Horus Heresy in order to crack the ancient C'tan force field generator surrounding the traitor Mechanicum fortress of Castellum Jericho. Anything that got too close to the field found itself torn to pieces or displaced into the Warp. However the loyalists eventually found a solution through Sonic Weaponry, which could penetrate the force field and resonate with the walls of the fortress. A massive Sonic Disruptor was built around an Ordinatus engine and managed to cause the walls of Jericho to topple to the country. The fortress was captured shortly after by loyalist Skitarii.[1a]

Despite its ancient date of construction, Ordinatus Mars is still deployed by the Mechanicum.[1a]

Notes

Continuity

The original article describing the Ordinatus Mars mentions the Dark Mechanicum armies as being led by a Magos Solomon Abaddon. This figure has since been split into Kelbor-Hal and Abaddon the Despoiler.

Trivia

The story surrounding the Ordinatus Mars toppling the walls of Jericho is a reference to the biblical story surrounding Joshua's siege of the city of the same name.
