Phoenix Lord

The Phoenix Lords are the greatest warriors of the Eldar, second only to the Avatars of Kaela Mensha Khaine himself. They are the greatest and most ancient of all the Exarchs. They cannot truly die for even if their body is destroyed another Eldar will find and don their armour. Thereby his consciousness will be overtaken by the first, strongest, and dominant mind of the original wearer.
Only the doomed Bards of Twilight know all the details of the Asuryata, the legend of the Phoenix Lords. This ancient epic tells the origins of the Phoenix Lords and also speaks of their future. It warns of the Rhana Dandra, the final apocalypse when all the Phoenix Lords and the Eldar will gather in a final battle against Chaos. Its ultimate validity is unclear, something shared with every prediction of the future or tale of the past. Nevertheless it seems to be the main source of knowledge about the Phoenix Lords.

History
In studying the known history of the Phoenix Lords, and the history of the Eldar in general, one should always remember that it is of incredibly ancient origin. The original sources have been lost and it should be regarded as of mainly mythological nature and validity. It is very likely that certains facts have been enhanced, while others gradually forgotten or mixed up with other ones.
Shrine of Asur
Shortly after the Fall of the Eldar, which happened more or less ten thousand years ago, Asurmen lead a group of survivors from a doomed eldar Crone World towards a barren world. In this world the Shrine of Asur, the first shrine of the Aspect Warriors, was built. There Asurmen himself taught and trained the very first Aspect Warriors, who tread the Path of the Warrior. His greatest disciples were the very first Exarchs, and became known as the Asurya.
These students developed their own warrior aspects, all of them being specialized forms of the path of the Warrior. They and their teacher founded numerous shrines on many Craftworlds.
Fall of Arhra
The details and reasons of the fall of Arhra to Chaos are unknown. What is known is that he somehow managed to destroy the Shrine of Asur. Fuegan supposedly refused to flee and died there. Also unknown is if Karandras replaced him before or after this destructive act.
Rhana Dandra
The final stanzas of the Asuryata tell that the Eldar and their gods will die in the Rhana Dandra, a star-spanning apocalypse. It has been foretold that Fuegan will call together the Phoenix Lords for this last battle. He will also be the last to die there. Arhras side and role in the battle is unknown.

Asurmen, the Hand of Assuryan
Asurmen founded more shrines than any of the other Phoenix Lords. The Dire Avengers are his students. His name 'Asurmen' literally means Hand of Asuryan and he is also know as the Hand of the Phoenix King. His ancient armor incorparates vambraces with integrated Avenger shuriken catapults. His sword is called the Sword of Asur, and it is the first of the direswords. It contains the spirit stone of Tethesis, brother of Asurmen. This way Tethesis can continue to battle against Chaos.
