Rapier

The Rapier is a tracked weapons carrier, widely used as heavy antipersonnel weapon. In this role it is armed with a multi-laser, making it very effective against infantry and light vehicles. For increased effectiveness against heavy armour it often employs a multi-melta or lascannon instead of the standard multi-laser.
They are operated by two crewmen allowing them to move and fire easily even though it takes a long time to reload. The Rapier is equipped with a targeter and as well as an auto-drive system (now known as power of the machine spirit), which allows the vehicle to move forward on its own without the intervention of a crewman, although they are still required to target and direct the vehicle.
The Rapier was seen in 1st Edition Imperial Guard forces and generally each company had five Rapiers as well as other weapons.1-p91
