Sangua Terra is an Imperial world.[1]
History
Sangua Terra's system once contained one of Segmentum Obscurus' stable Warp routes. Like its sister planet, Vigilus, it is home to large amounts of Blackstone which stabilizes the Nachmund Gauntlet as a pathway through the Great Rift.[3a] However, the creation of the Great Rift enveloped Sangua Terra's system and the blighted world is now infested with Daemons.[1]
As part of the greater War of Beasts, Sangua Terra is under Chaos assault as Abaddon the Despoiler seeks to destroy both it and Vigilus to close the Nachmund Gauntlet. At least 2 companies of the Castellans of the Rift Chapter are fighting on the world.[2] However as of the Nachmund Rift War, the situation on Sangua Terra seemed to be fairly stable. The planet became the linchpin of the new Imperial defensive network dubbed the Sanctus Wall.[4]
There are reports that the dreaded Black Legion Battleship Planet Killer is currently en route to Sangua Terra in order to deal with the world permanently.[3b]
The current Imperial Commander of Sangua Terra is Kalendela Tol, who heads the Sangua-Terran War Council.[5]
