Sensor Spines are a set of advanced Tau devices that read detailed data about the surrounding ground.
They can be fitted on a skimmer vehicle allowing it to hover closer to the ground, without risking to hit any obstacle even in hazardous terrains, yet still gaining any tactical advantage the landscape can provide (such as cover)2. They have also been known to be used to detect hidden units or traps1.
