Sor Gharax

Sor Gharax, also known as The Bull, was an insane Contemptor Dreadnought in the Word Bearers Legion who took part in the Battle for Calth during the Horus Heresy.

History

Once a wise war-priest of Colchis, he became a mentor of his Legion's recruits. However, Gharax was gravely wounded during the detonation of a Titan's reactor during battle on the world of 17-17 and was interred into a Dreadnought thereafter. Inside one of the finest Contemptor's of its kind, Gharax fought in many battles but began to fall into despair in bitterness. Unlike many within his legion, he saw his internment within a Dreadnought shell as unbecoming of a warrior. His chagrin soon turned to madness, and by the time of the Battle of Calth what remained of the proud warrior was dead, replaced with a hate-filled monster.[2]

When Calth's sun began giving off deadly radiation during the battle, Sor Gharax reached the safety of the planet's underground arcologies. There, beneath Calth's surface, he joined the Word Bearers under the command of the Dark Apostle Kurtha Sedd, to continue their battle against the Ultramarines, in what became known as the Underground War.[1]
