Raveners appear to be related to both Rippers and Tyranid Warriors. These large, snake-like beasts are designed for fast assults against light enemies and dig through the ground to perform surprise raids. They seem to be much smaller and less ferocious versions of the Forge World Trygon, a huge serpentine tyranid armed with 6 sets of scything talons.
