Changes

In [[Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader]], Hive Tyrants , then known as [[Hive Lords]], were described as the huge, bloated primogenitors of the Tyranids. The destruction of the Hive Tyrant would disperse all Tyranid forces. This closely resembles description fits the Norn-Queens Queen of later current publications. It was during the second edition of the game that the position of the Tyranid Hive Tyrant in the Tyranid heirarchy changed to its current position; not the highest embodiment of the hive-mind, but the largest version commonly encountered in battle.
