The Tail Mace is a Tyranid Bio-weapon.

In 4th Edition it is similar to a Tail Scythe. It is a huge lump of flesh on the end of the tail and is used like a wrecker-ball, to demolish heavy vehicles and sweep aside many enemies at once.^1-p33
