I updated the Equipment section to include Missile Launchers and Lascannons.

Sourcing

Each section/fact must be sourced with reference to a footnote; with games it is acceptable to just source the whole game although greater detail is preferred if available (ie level 2 or whatever). Where multiple background divergences are a possibility (ie who is the traitor) the canon background goes in the main body and a Notes section is created to document the other possibilities. If canon is unclear, no definitive statements should be made in the main body, but a Notes section should still be created to recount all the possibilities. Thanks.--Mob 01:05, 24 April 2011 (CEST)

I believe the point that was being made with the edit is that the possibilities from Chaos Rising are as follows:

  • Martellus = cannot be canon traitor due to being a loyalist character in Retribution
  • Tarkus = as above
  • Cyrus = as above
  • Jonah = as above
  • Thaddeus = Tarkus explicitly reveals the traitor as having served with him on Kronus; which, if I remember correctly, Thaddeus did not do canonically. Would be worth just double-checking that though.
  • Avitus = sole remaining possibility. Not shown as a loyalist in Retribution and did serve with Tarkus on Kronus.

Apart from Avitus the only one not explicitly shown to be loyalist for Retribution is Thaddeus; who I'm pretty sure is ruled out for the above reason, although that would have to be double checked and confirmed by someone. By the simple process of elimination Avitus is the only possibility within the canon; theres no possibility of alternatives or divergences because all of the other options are accounted for. Yeah, but we don't put info in the main body of the articles that has no actual in-universe source, and we require sources to validate information. As there isn't a source other than 'You work it out based on what happens in the plot of another game', we need to explain that. So, the Notes section would go something like "While the identity of the traitor is never actually stated, if one is to consider the suspects it becomes clear that Avitus is the only viable possibility because (insert the above information - which btw, is pretty much exactly what I was hoping to see, thanks - here).--Mob 02:14, 24 April 2011 (CEST)

Also, Thaddeus probably died in the last battle of Dawn of War II as he is not present in the group in Chaos Rising if you start a new game without importing your old save file. --B-E-T-A
