Talk:Defiler
From Lexicanum
If anyone has access to other sources on this (for example the one about finding a defiler a the bottom of some pit somewhere... Citadel of Kromarch?... then if you can either add that or point me in the direction of it then that would be great. Cheers!--Jonru 21:55, 12 August 2007 (CEST)
how do i reference Epic PDFs?
some of the information i've added is from the Epic army lists from the specialist games site. how should i reference them?
- The best way is to give a link to the new specialist games website (http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?community=&catId=cat1290320&categoryId=1100008&aId=4900003) and then write after the link the name of the PDF, for example: Specialist Games - Epic Games Rules
- Hope that helps!--Jonru 15:46, 4 November 2008 (CET)
thanks, that's certainly a start, but what if the article is on the old SG site and not the newer one? specifically the details are taken from the trial chaos legion lists that never seemed to make it any further?--admiraldick 11:55, 7 November 2008 (CET)
- Ah, ok. That's more difficult. You just have to give the source without a link, just write the name of the PDF I think and leave it at that.--Jonru 11:59, 7 November 2008 (CET)
- Often it is good to list when a web-reference was viewed. Example: (viewed 2008.11.07) That way if the article is moved (or removed) from the original web site, we have a reference of when it was on the site. Take a look at Lexicanum:Sourcing. --Rlyehable 02:06, 8 November 2008 (CET)
Soulgrinders?
the current page has no reference to Soulgrinders, despite the fact that they are a form of Defiler. shouldn't there be some reference made to the vehicle (so that veiwers will know that they are connected)?--admiraldick 18:52, 27 November 2008 (CET)
- The question is IF they are really connected. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 19:09, 27 November 2008 (CET)
- Actually, they are not a Defiler variant. It's a daemon fused with the remains of all kinds of possessed vehicles. They might be part Defiler, but also Titan, tank and whatnot. (Codex: Daemons p44). --Digganob
Updating the description
Okay, so I made some fine tunes to the description and checked that info was correct from the CSM codex. I also added some narrative taste to description than it used to be, hope it's okay? All the information is legit to say the least. Oh, yeah, I was thinking about adding a specific section, which describes wars and incidents that defilers have particepated in, other than the 13th black crusade. CSM codex mentiones Bastonbeil -world. Any good books to search for sources? I still kept the incomplete -mark, so that someone more knowledged person can modify it. --Dyaros
- I would suggest that you make a section in the article called "History" for events where the Defilers have participated. As for books, sadly I cannot offer any suggestions about that. I can only remember the entries from the White Dwarf articles containing mentions of Defilers but thats it. --C'tan
- I gotta look it up myself but I'm pretty sure that Defilers have been around several centuries before the 13th BC. Also, what source/faction gives the Defiler a threat rate? -Digganob 21:59, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
- I I remember it was part of the story when Eye of the Terror campaign was announced in WD... I have too look the magazine (though I've got no clue where I put it...). The threat rate was just fun canon to think about. Okay, I'll remove both problems Digganob pointed out (13th BC mentioning and threat rate) for the sake of convenience and until I can point out the WD number (or I was just horribly wrong). Thanks for the critics. --Dyaros 22:32, 20 July 2009 (UTC)
