Famous Fenrisian Wolves

The most legendary of the Fenrisian Wolves were the Blackmanes Freki and Geri, the wolf-brothers of the Space Wolves Primarch Leman Russ. These two wolves grew up with Leman Russ when the Primarch was found by their mother. When Leman Russ and his wolf pack was found by the hunting party of King Thengir, most of the pack was killed along with the she-wolf that had adopted Leman Russ. Freki and Geri had escaped the King's hunters. Later, during the Great Crusade the two wolves fought at Russ's side.1

The above is probably no longer canon, considering that if Fenrisian wolves are all decended from Space Wolves then Leman Russ couldnt have been brought up by a wolf.--Nestorius 13:34, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Is it really explained somewhere in the novel? I had the impression that it's hinted repeatedly ("There are no Wolves on Fenris"), but not outright stated. --Digganob 14:26, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
It is only hinted though the fact that there were no wolves before the Space Wolves arrived is explicitly said in fact repeatedly (Thousand Sons also mentions it). I guess we don't know either way, though I suspect it means that both Freki and Geri have been written out of the canon.--Nestorius 15:08, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
I do not share this suspicion. Unless it it said explicitly which it is not as far as I remember from reading the novel. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 15:22, 7 February 2011 (UTC)
Addendum: See discussion threads on B&C and Warseer. And I remind you that everybody here in the Lexicanum shoul keep well away from interpretation. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 15:31, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey guys, it says in Prospero Burns that the Fenrisian that saved the thral and failed to become a full space marine was turned into a wolf somehow. Does that not warrent a mention? And russ states that there are no wolves on fenris until the emperor came. I know putting 2 and 2 together may be getting 5 here but it seams reasonable to say that some if not all of the wolves of fenris are failed space wolves.Especially since space wolves can descend into the wulfen.--Aikidokanavan 02:47, 26 February 2011 (UTC)

Everything that is written in an official source can be included. No speculation or extrapolation of your own is allowed. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 09:48, 26 February 2011 (UTC)
This is now confirmed canon as of Lukas The Trickster, beginning of chapter 12. I've added the information with reference. --Volphy 22:18, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
Replacing one legitimate source that is in addition correctly sourced with another counts as (unintentional for now) vandalism. Also have a very close look at What to do in case of conflicting sources and what the Help section says about sources - especially the passage "We are aware that even accepted sources might contradict each other, but within the Lexicanum there is no "hierarchy of sources" - i.e. no accepted source is considered more valid than another official source. More recent sources do however take precedence over older sources. This does however not mean that the old information is considered "wrong" and non-acceptable and has to be deleted altogether - this is definitely not the case! It is an explicit goal of the Lexicanum to also reflect potentially outdated information - with appropriate disclaimers and explanations. For the general problem of the concept of "canon" see further on where this is discussed." --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 07:30, 19 April 2020 (UTC)
Considering the information should be present on the page in some capacity in that case, and the page has been simply reverted instead of updated with the new information, can someone with a more veteran status within the community make the addition so I can have a first hand observation on what would constitute a better way to display the information that has since been deleted? I do not wish to edit it further if I have made a mistake already, and would appreciate the help. --Volphy 03:41, 5 May 2020 (UTC)
