Seydon's Age

On page 174 of the Brothers of the Snake (Novel) Seydon states that he is fond of Damocles squad, ever since he told Damocles to found the squad. As the squads of the Iron Snakes are named after their first squad leader, shouldnt this indicate that Seydon is in fact the First and only chapter master, or at least a one of the initiall military leaders of the Iron Snakes? The other main indication from this quote is that he has been alive since the founding of the Iron Snakes.

I make it a point to see those Snakes who return after a long absence, especially those I am fond of. Damocles squad - now, I've been fond of that ever since I told Damocles to form it. One of the finest war-squads this Chapter has ever produced. - Seydon page 174 --Ytokes 12:31, 3 May 2011 (CEST)

Huh. And yet on p.360 he says there were 18 Chapter Masters before him. It's either a mistake, or there's something weird going on with Damocles. Time for a close reading of the sections of the book that explain phratery-squads, I guess. This whole article could do with being sourced with the current footnote style, seeing as we're on the subject of properly referencing information.--Mob 16:51, 3 May 2011 (CEST)
Hmm well I am reading this novel currently and am halfway so things are fresh. Also its structured like a series of short stories which is handy for compartmentalisation. Might change things then.--Ytokes 01:02, 4 May 2011 (CEST)
At one point Khiron mentions how Squad Rhidates has been reformed, and that he is glad that the name for the squad is still going to be used, suggesting that sometimes squad names are shelved and that new squads can be made, so perhaps Damocles was a similar situation and was created while Seydon was Chapter Master, not necessarily present at the formation of the Iron Snakes themselves. --Hive Node 11:56, 19 June 2011 (CEST)

Fratery vs. Phratry

In the Iron Snakes page, under the Organization title, it states that the chapter is refered to as the "fratery" by the Iron Snakes, is this a mis-spelling or is this actually said in the book (if so which page), throughout the novel I had the impression that the Iron Snakes referred to the chapter as the "phratry" and that individual squads were called just that, squads.--Hive Node 11:59, 19 June 2011 (CEST)
