Certainty

This article states many things as 'fact' even though to my knowledge it all still remains conjecture. Unless something has changed recently, the only 'facts' relating to the LotD are directly related to their individual appearances. Of particular significance is the Fire Hawks connection which, though heavily supported by GW, has not been confirmed at all. Legionaireb 16:17, 10 April 2012 (CEST)

Ugh, this. Yeah, the page could clearly do with a tidy-up, even without the Fire Hawks stuff needing edited, it's ugly to look at. The article is reasonably sound considering the sources cited, however. Isn't the issue is that there are newer sources which effect the LotD fluff that the article doesn't use yet? A lot of our articles are behind the curve, sadly. If anyone wants to list the sources worth checking out so we can work on the page, that would be good. I seem to recall that The Chapter's Due has a magical ghost Ultramarine turning up at the end, and I take it the book Legion of the Damned is worth a skim through? Thanks. --Mob 17:47, 10 April 2012 (CEST)
So The Chapter's Due features ghost marines in LotD-esque armour (though it doesn't actually say that's what they are...they are) who rock up to save Uriel. One of them is apparently the ghost-marine of Remus Ventanus, so the LotD are being rewritten to be more than just the actually-alive-and-not-really-ghosts Fire Hawks.--Mob 21:02, 10 April 2012 (CEST)

Overhaul Required

In the wake of the recent release of the official Legion of the Damned Codex, this page requires some major reorganization and rewriting. In particular, the heavy emphasis on the Fire Hawks theory needs to be re-evaluated in the wake of both the introduction of several new official theories of their origin and the introduction of several major encounters with the Legion significantly before the Fire Hawk's disappearance (including the major encounter by Chief Librarian Tigurius of the Ultramarines).
