Distinction between paint schemes and miniatures

I must stress that a very clear distinction must be made between generic miniatures that were painted in a chapter specific paint scheme and actual chapter specific miniatures. The captions especially for the 1st ed minis must be adapted accordingly (example "Salamanders"). --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 18:59, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Space Crusade Dreadnoughts

I had a look at that BoLS "article" from which the image was taken. Quote: "back in the day, before Space Hulk there was Space Crusade! The Necrons had Dreadnoughts (which look suspiciously like something from Terminator, oh right.. all the Necrons do) and if you can tell from the box, all the enemies of the Imperium looked happy to be fighting." Now this actually says that the Dreadnoughts were in the opposing force from the Space Marines. And here I am generously disregarding the embarassing fauxpas that a) there were no Necrons back then and b) the minis he means were "Chaos Androids" (or sth like that). Plus I think he meant to say Robocop and not Terminator, see ED-209... --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 20:32, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Don't touch the release date sources

Images sources will be added later on. Don't destroy a very extensive release dates sourcing project; help improve it, but don't destroy it because "rules". It's a WIP.--Siegfriedfr (talk) 18:10, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Might I suggest making use of the {{WIP}} tag, then? KazilDarkeye (talk) 18:21, 5 May 2023 (UTC)
I didn't think I was destroying anything, because the release date was pretty clear from the format of the article. If the goal is to cite the release date of the models, then maybe the citation should go on the section header? Though that won't work on the models outside of a box set. Eventually, are you planning on having two sets of footnotes on most images, one for the release date and one for the image source?
I really appreciate the work you've done on these miniature galleries, which I think are probably the most important pages on the wiki. --Mikaka (talk) 18:47, 5 May 2023 (UTC)

Wrong dating

The Sergeant with the power axe and bolter painted as Crimson Fist listed under Codex Ultramarines 1995 can't be correct. The bolter design is all wrong, that design was only introduced with 3rd edition I think. Also relatively sure that the helmetless assault sergeant is later than Codex Ultramarines. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 18:17, 6 November 2023 (UTC)

Regarding the assault sergeant, he's on pg 86 of the 1995 UM Codex, also pg 32 of the 1995 Annual. Regarding the axe sergeant, you seem to be right, couldn't find him before the 1999 catalogue.--Siegfriedfr (talk) 06:59, 7 November 2023 (UTC)
