hive lords (rogue trader)

the Hive Lord is mentioned in rogue trader, as the acting agent of the Hive Tyrant (back then the Hive Tyrant was the norn queen). should they then be listed in ex-tyranid species? Pikez33 21:47, 28 October 2008 (CET)

Sure. He also needs an article.--Genestealer, Magus 23:06, 28 October 2008 (CET)

Changes 01/10/10

Made some minor changes to the names of 5th Edition nids that had their German names. All names are in correct english now.

--Hive Node 00:22, 11 January 2010 (UTC)

=The codex for the tyranids was just realesed today would it be ok to add the new pages in.

--User:The-Mutation

That'd be fantastic. Make sure that no copy-rights are broken in the pages though. --Hive Node 23:11, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

OK i had to get permisission first to add them on ill get them added in in a little bit lent codex to a friend.

Hydraphant and Vituperator

According to this [1] they are from Epic, if anybody that has it could check for them--Ashendant 16:14, 20 December 2011 (CET)

messed up template

is there any way to fix these gigantic templates so they fit the page size?--Ashendant 22:07, 27 January 2012 (CET)

That better? Thelemur 22:12, 27 January 2012 (CET)
By a lot Thanks--Ashendant 22:22, 27 January 2012 (CET)
No bother, I often forget about different screen sizes and things like that - if you need to change the size of one of the tables there is usually a bit in the 1st line of the code that says " width=900px ", just change that value to extend/decrease the width. Thelemur 22:37, 27 January 2012 (CET)

Images

What are the preferred images? Art(like from the RPG) or Models (from the tabletop)?--Ashendant 14:41, 28 January 2012 (CET)

I'd say models would be preffered, but artwork if there are no models. Thelemur 18:27, 31 January 2012 (CET)
Ok Thanks--Ashendant 21:41, 31 January 2012 (CET)

Do we post every creature from this gallery... because that's... a lot of tyrannids...--Ashendant 01:27, 21 December 2011 (CET)

I'll make a list, ill process it later.--Ashendant 01:27, 21 December 2011 (CET)

I just researched the Tyranids that were listed on the species article and didn't have any info....the CCG is a bit overwhelming I agree though a lot of them are just variants of known species (Catalystzoanthrope = Zoanthrope, etc.). As for the Hydraphant and what not, I can't seem to find any solid info on them (or any kind of source) so if someone can I'll make articles on them. -Harriticus
I'll probably end up organizing the list above so the species are connected there...--Ashendant 01:40, 21 December 2011 (CET)
I'll try and find pics of the beasties that were released in epic scale and upload the pics for those articles. Thelemur 02:11, 21 December 2011 (CET)
Did a bit of selection... the amount of species is staggering.--Ashendant 02:55, 21 December 2011 (CET)
I'm Removing those that are already on the list--Ashendant 21:05, 21 December 2011 (CET)

Gants and Gaunts

  • Gaunt/Gant
    • Deathgaunts
    • Hellgaunts
    • Nightgaunts
    • Terrorgaunts
    • Slashgaunts
    • Razorgants
    • Crucigants
    • Exegants
    • Malgants
    • Mortegaunts
    • Rendergants
    • Protogaunts
    • Pyrogaunts
    • Lashgaunts
    • Genogants
    • Toxigaunts
Ok trying to revive this topic, should we put all the gaunts and gants variants on this list?--Ashendant 21:41, 31 January 2012 (CET)
Maybe on the main Gaunt article. I would just leave this list to the main kind of Gaunts--Harriticus
Agreed,I dont personally think its worth the time adding them to the list - generally they are just termagants with different weapons and in the old list format the links either just led to the gaunt page or were red-links. If we are going to add them all for the sake of completeness then we have to make sure we arent just creating lots of links that go nowhere. Thelemur 21:49, 31 January 2012 (CET)

What if we make a list in the Gaunt Notes and link those items in the list to each section in the Gaunt Article? Kinda Like This:

Name Column - Note Column
Gaunt - Existing note. Examples of less known Gaunt subspecies: Pyrogaunt, Protogaunt

What do you think--Ashendant 21:53, 31 January 2012 (CET)

If we were going to mention them at all on this page, Id just list them as normal entries on the table but make sure that either-
  • if the subspecies name is a LINK that that link actually goes to a page with info on that sub-species
  • alternatively, list the species but DONT make the name a link - just say in notes "termagant with devourer" or whatever description is appropriate Thelemur 22:09, 31 January 2012 (CET)
I was saying option 1, but the page that would link would be the Gaunt article, but directly linked to the section where that subspecies would be...
Now the alterations to the Gaunt Page should be making a small section with a gallery of those subspecies(because we don't have much information on them either way).--Ashendant 22:23, 31 January 2012 (CET)

As long as there arent any redlinks or redirects to pages with no appropriate info, Im happy either wayThelemur 22:27, 31 January 2012 (CET)

So i should make a minor list/gallery in the Gaunt Article?--Ashendant 23:22, 31 January 2012 (CET)
Defo make a list there so we can make redirects there from the main page, whether you want to make it a gallery too is up to you. Thelemur 23:44, 31 January 2012 (CET)
Well i already made the list and the gallery is set so once the images are uploaded they can be quickly added.--Ashendant 00:23, 1 February 2012 (CET)
Finished the gallery, now adding them to this list.--Ashendant 01:06, 1 February 2012 (CET)
Nice - if I were you, I wouldnt bother making the entries on this table links - just add the name and pics to the table. If there is a link it implies that the article the link goes to will have further information. Thelemur 01:22, 1 February 2012 (CET)
Yeah no need to put those links there is nothing there to develop, altrough now we have to deal with the rest of the stuff on the list and some of them are really unique(ancient kraken, nautiloid and such), and others i don't even know what they are(veridian burrower, the von ryan leaper, fanguard).--Ashendant 01:42, 1 February 2012 (CET)

I dont think there is a problem with having the more uncommon stuff on the list - as long as it is marked as such (I REALLY wanted to leave the "Laius Horror" off the list, as it is just a bit of daft fluff some WD writer came up with - but its an officially published beasty so it gets to stay in). Similarly I have no problem with us listing all the gaunt variants in this table for the sake of completeness, I just dont think we should put them in as links - just as entries. Thelemur 01:50, 1 February 2012 (CET)

It seems you have a specific idea in mind go and from what i can see i agree with it, could you do it?--Ashendant 01:51, 1 February 2012 (CET)
I'd be glad to - as Im fed up with the other project I've started and want a change :) Thelemur 01:55, 1 February 2012 (CET)
Have you done everything with the gaunts above, that you wanted? I though you were going to do individual entries like Termagants and Spinegaunts have.--Ashendant 19:15, 1 February 2012 (CET)

I was going to, but I decided I preffered it the way you had set it up; so I left it as is. Thelemur 19:19, 1 February 2012 (CET)

Ok but now we need to deal with the rest on the List.--Ashendant 19:49, 1 February 2012 (CET)

Zoanthrope

Who of these guy do we use?--Ashendant 19:51, 1 February 2012 (CET)

I'm guessing by the names that they are just regular Zoanthropes named after what pschic powers they have - I'd either ignore them or list them in the Zoanthrope entry the same way you did for the Guants. Thelemur 19:59, 1 February 2012 (CET)
I'v posted links to the pictures, the two first seem to correspond to what you say, the biothrope seems to be the only one that follows the rules of tyranid species naming but the catalyst looks like a human with a really big head.--Ashendant 20:03, 1 February 2012 (CET)
So what do you think of listing catalyst zoanthrope and biothrope as subspecies but not the other two?--Ashendant 20:09, 1 February 2012 (CET)
Hum could anybody answer?--Ashendant 15:41, 2 February 2012 (CET)
Sounds good - whatever you think is best. Thelemur 17:14, 2 February 2012 (CET)
I just went ahead and added them to the list. I put the names in the notes section of Zoanthrope the same way you did for Gaunts. I made the names a link to a "Named Subspecies" bit on the Zoanthrope page, thought this might be a good place to add the images. What do you think?
Hmm seems cool. Altrough we should go with Species of Zoanthrope rather than Named Sub-species.--Ashendant 20:42, 2 February 2012 (CET)
I'd say sub-species is more apt - Zoanthrope is the species, Catalyst Zoanthrope (or whatever) is a sub-species of that larger species. Doesn't relly matter either way I suppose. Thelemur 20:48, 2 February 2012 (CET)

So the rest

So i want to complete those that are like this:

  • Gargoyles
    • Spined Gargoyles
    • Acid Gargoyles
    • Barbed Gargoyles
  • Trygon
    • Immature Trygon
  • Dominatrix
    • Ancient Dominatrix
  • Hierodule
    • Scythed Hierodule
    • Barbed Heirodule
  • Ravener
    • Ancient Ravener
    • Death Spitting Ravener
    • Devouring Ravener
    • Spined Ravener
    • Thorn Ravener
What do we do with them?, put them on the list or their race pages? i'm going with race pages for these ones--Ashendant 11:50, 1 May 2012 (CEST)
Yeah, adding them to the list seems like overkill - prob best just to add the info to the relevant beasties pages. The Lemur 19:39, 1 May 2012 (CEST)
I'd say put it on the species page. These kinds of Tyranids are only ever mentioned in the CCG, so can be argued as "not canon", either way, maybe just putting a heading on the species page saying "CCG Varients: blah blah blah.". There are some species in the CCG that are repetitive withing the cards and the codexes, for example, the Huntsman warriors, Nightgaunts and Razorfexes, these types of Tyranids should be on the species list.
I'd also like to point out the "Eel-like Ripper". I don't think it's appropriate to have this on the species list, as it is provided in Achilus Assault as more of a description than an actual type of Ripper. That paragraph in the book also describes "maggot-like rippers" as well, yet they're not on the Lexicanum list. Also I feel it is inappropriate to provided the image of the 2nd edition rippers as these Eel-like rippers, as that may be misleading.--Hive Node 09:58, 7 May 2012 (CEST)
That would indeed be speculation and should therefore be removed. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 12:01, 9 May 2012 (CEST)
I don't know who put that image.
I didn't see any type of maggotlike rippers but the eellike were describbed as rippers designed for a specific function.--Ashendant 20:11, 9 May 2012 (CEST)

Where i put these

I was thinking about these guys and where to put them so i though of this:

Put these on their own sections.
  • Vore
    • Triovore

Triovore CCG.jpg

    • Protovore

Protovore CCG.jpg

These guys i'll put under Genestealers.
  • Stealers
    • Raelstealers
    • Coronisstealers
    • Dolumarstealers
    • Icharstealers
    • Delosstealers
What do you think?--Ashendant 01:30, 12 May 2012 (CEST)
Four with pics.--Ashendant 01:42, 12 May 2012 (CEST)
To keep things simple, why don't we just always have the sub-species mentioned in the main species pages, unless there is actually enough info to warrant an individual page. Most of the beasties listed above are only mentioned by name in CCG, so I assume there is no real info on them other than a name and an image. The Lemur 01:45, 12 May 2012 (CEST)
I thought about that, and i since i didn't know if i would put them under Carnifex or Tyranofex, and the Vores under Biovore or Pyrovore(trought i didn't see the images when i originally posted this here, now it's much clearer).--Ashendant 02:54, 12 May 2012 (CEST)
ok i think i did well with the vores, i put them inside the the gallery in the biovore article--Ashendant 18:11, 12 May 2012 (CEST)

CCG Gallery

So to make the decision making easier i'll post here the images(they lack categories because i don't know where to put them so tell me which and if theres anything else missing from them)

What do you think?--Ashendant 18:46, 12 May 2012 (CEST)
