Tanith Magna was the planetary capital of the forest world Tanith. It contained the main government building known as the Assembly and was the seat of the planetary governor, known as the Elector of Tanith.

Description

Tanith Magna was an impressive bulwark of Imperial might in an otherwise nature ridden world. Large spires and towers soared up from within large basalt walls. The air around filled with brazier smoke and pennants and banners fluttered in the breeze. Throughout the city there was the constant playing of Tanith Pipes.

The city itself was laid out not unlike the circles of standing stones that are common among primitive human cultures.

History

During The Circudus Offensive and the Fall of Tanith, Tanith Magna was razed to the ground.

Orbital bombardment from the Chaos Armada levelled the majority of the population centers, while shock troops were deployed to prevent the escape of any important Imperial personnel left alive. During this fight, the Tanith 2nd and 3rd were destroyed, the survivors being reformed into the Tanith First and Only.

Geography

Located in the dense ocean like forests of Tanith, the city was situated on a flat plain. Despite the moving forests, a large clearing was kept outside the city, though it is uncertain if this was a permanent feature or made for the first founding of the Tanith Regiments.

Tanith Magna was located in and also the provincial capital of Pryze County.

Culture

Tanith Magna was the seat of the planetary governor, The Elector, as well as being the central point of Imperial Bureaucracy on the planet.

Colm Corbec, Hlaine Larkin and Forgal all originated from the Tanith Magna Militia.
