The Ethereal Guard, also known as Tau Honour Guards are Tau warriors who serve as the bodyguards and protectors of Ethereals, the undisputed leaders of the Tau Empire.

Specifically bred and trained for their duties, Ethereal Guards are physically large and well-muscled for Tau. They are also fanatically loyal to their Ethereals even by the standards of the Tau.^[2] These warriors are dressed in ritual garb but wear Recon Armour and wield Honour Blades.^[1a]

An Ethereal is always protected by at least two members of the Ethereal Guard.^[2]
