Usage

This template should only be used within articles whose sources may conflict with newer sources. Below are some examples:

1. Early sources (e.g. Realms of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness) claim the Eldar make use of warp portals for interstellar travel, but all subsequent sources claim they make use of the Webway.

2. The Codex: Necrons (3rd Edition) claims the C'tan entered stasis at the end of the War in Heaven, rather than being shattered into C'tan Shards, as claimed in Codex: Necrons (5th Edition).

As an online encyclopedia of Warhammer 40,000 lore and content, it is not the role of editors speculate upon canonicity or truthfulness of any canon source. Canon refers to the validity of the source, rather than its truthfulness, and all material published by Games Workshop, its subsidiaries, and license holders are considered canon. Conversely, simply because certain materials are no longer referenced in newer sources does not mean its validity is in question, and this banner template should not be used for such cases.

This template is specifically meant to be used when a newer source directly contradicts an older source. This template is simply to be used to address any confusion that may be caused by including two conflicting pieces of information drawn from two conflicting canon sources in the same article.
