Thaxar Wars

The Thaxar Wars was a six year long conflict in 745.M35 between the Imperium, Dark Eldar, and Chaos renegades.^[1]

Overview

The war began when the Chaos-worshiping pirates and renegades of the Thaxar Rift became so powerful that they posed a serious threat to the Kabal of the Severed, whose fleets regularly plunder the area for their leisure. The Severed secretly transmitted the location of the Chaos Renegades base to the Imperial Navy, which brought not only its own fleet but those of the Adeptus Astartes down on the heretics as well. However many of the renegades escape the hunt, and a grueling six year stalemate breaks out between the Imperial and Chaos forces. In the end, the Imperium declared the Thaxar Rift lost and declared systematic Exterminatus the only option. However it is at this time that the Dark Eldar struck, annihilating all Imperial and Chaos forces in the area and claiming the Thaxar Rift for themselves.^[1]
