The Herald of Fate
The Herald of Fate was a Thousand Sons Sorcerer Lord whose forces invaded the Imperium's Vidar Sector and brought his prophesied message of the Sector's doom to its population. During the invasion, he led his forces in a conquest of the Darkfall System, but this caused the Sorcerer Lord to transcend to Daemonhood and ended his threat to the Vidar Sector. Though The Herald's prophesy of doom for the Sector did not come to pass, he had devestated the Darkfall System and left its remaining population scattered and lost - among them, the ruling Calcearious Family who later fled to the Imperium world of Praedis Zeta. Hundreds of years later, however, events have unfolded that yet might prove The Herald was correct; the Calcearious Family has been revealed to have degenerated into Genestealer-worshiping slaves, whose very existence threatens to bring the great swarms of the Tyranids to the Sector.[1]
