The Hex
This article is about the Drukhari coven; for the Strike Cruiser, see Hex. |
The Hex are a Dark Eldar Haemonculi Coven of Commorragh.[1]
Overview
This coven is known for its flair for the dramatic. They consider themselves the most artistically gifted of the Dark City's many Covens, and will participate in raids upon Realspace only if the locale or victims involved serve as a suitable muse. Much of their "art" is presented on a large and shocking scale, such as the sliced and stitched remains of hundreds of victims. Such a creative process requires a substantial workforce, thus they tend to maintain large retinues of Wracks.[2]
In battle, they compete fiercely to secure the greatest number and variety of living victims, and the grand unveiling of their work is seen just as important as the pieces themselves. As such, they will always ensure their victims have enough time to call for help before finishing them off. Once reinforcements arrive, the Hex will allow them to fully appreciate each macabre exhibit, drinking in the terror and revulsion from hiding places. Only when insanity and hysteria have taken hold do the Hex strike, destroying their audiences transports and hunting them down in the final "finale" of their masterpiece.[2] Their raiding territory is located within the edge of Ultima Segmentum.[6]
In 926.M36, the Coven was able to contain and harness the Glass Plague of Jalaxlar, utilizing the terrifying disease in realspace raids.[3]
Sometime after the creation of the Great Rift The Hex Haemonculus Khaeghris Xhakt launched an unsuccessful raid on Fenris.[4]
