The Thunderfire Cannon is a large, multibarreled cannon on treads that is operated by a Space Marine Techmarine.

Overview

These colossal weapons are mounted on rugged tracks which provides a level of long range support for the Adeptus Astartes when they advance. A Techmarine manned the weapon which can set its shells to detonate in a variety of different ways depending on the tactical situation. Surface detonations are used against numerous enemies while airburst shells allowed the scouring of a foe from cover and subterranean blasts were used to send the enemies sprawling which made them an easy prey for the Space Marines that advanced into enemy territory.
