The Tower of Angels is the largest fortress-monastery that was ever built on Caliban at the time of the Great Crusade, and was used by Luther as his main headquarters when Lion El'Jonson left with half of the Legion to unite humanity under one banner. Upon their Primarch's return, when the Marines on Caliban opened fire on the returning fleet, it was here where Lion El'Jonson and Luther had their final battle, with Luther almost killing The Lion, until realizing the error of his ways and freeing himself from the Dark Gods of Chaos. In their anger, the gods created a massive warp storm, that tore the already weakened planet apart, and sucking it into the warp along with the traitor marines, with the exception of the Tower. The Tower of Angels is the last remaining piece of the planet Caliban, and serves as the main base of operations to the Dark Angels.

Currently, the Tower travels throughout the Segmentum, responding to emergencies and passing though systems to collect the aspirants of the Dark Angels kept in local Keeps as well as any Fallen that Interrogator-Chaplains may have captured.
