How to add sources

It is compulsory to add official sources for ANY change or addition of information!

The new text has to be marked with a footnote.

new text1

This footnote is then referenced under "Sources" at the end of the article:

*1: Codex XY, p. xx

Please note that it is absolutely compulsory to include pagenumbers (in the case of novels chapter numbers)!

If you are referencing different pages/ chapters from the same source the source itself is marked with a number, the individual pages or chapters by letters:

new text1: p. xy ... new text1: p. yz

*1: Codex XY:

In the case of novels, no pagenumbers should be given (they vary between translations and print runs). In this case chapternumbers are compulsory.

new text1: ch. xy ... new text1: ch. yz

*1: XY (Novel):

Please first test this function in the Lexicanum:Immaterium.

Luther Macintyre IX

Chapter number for "Caves of Ice" missing. And please note that different footnotes for same text should be separated by ";", thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 13:53, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

Ok, its mainly just one or two pages; when I get home from the University, I'll change it. Commisar Gegnillum 15:13, 2 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm putting what I remember down, it was page 307 I believe. Commisar Gegnillum 20:45, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

"Believe" is not really sth. I want to hear when refering to sources. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 21:17, 8 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm changing it; the 307 refers to the page number from "Hero of the Imperium" omnibus. I'll update. Commisar Gegnillum 20:20, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

 • need a category
 • need a description that contains internal links
 • need the copyright tag copyright
 • need a specified source
 • need a filename that makes it clear by just reading it what the picture shows

--Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 17:10, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Got it. I have changed both of my pictures. Is it now satisfactory, or should I still edit it? Also, can I revert the changes on Land Raider back to include the Achilles page?Commisar Gegnillum 17:22, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Luther Macintyre IX

Please check out the changes I made to the sourcing --> same sources but different pagenumbers are differentiated by small letters instead of separate numbers. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 18:52, 7 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok, thank you very much Inquisitor S. Commisar Gegnillum 18:43, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

For those who might be looking.

Here is a list of articles that I've identified that might need some work:

Bolt Weapon- Needs to check for fan fluff, all bolt ammo pictures were fan-made.

Only official picture material allowed, Space Marine Painter is definitely forbidden. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 15:39, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Alright thanks; one of the pictures posted by someone on the pictoral list is from Space Marine painter. I'll get rid of it. Commisar Gegnillum 16:22, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Yep, all similar pictures must be purged. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 23:52, 28 February 2011 (UTC)

Recent additions

Note that you also have to put the footnote numbers within the table at the beginning of the article. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 13:01, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

Fixed. Commisar Gegnillum 15:38, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
What about the information in the tables without a footnote? --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:25, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
From the same source, unless you want me to cite them also. Thanks! Commisar Gegnillum 16:26, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
Yes, each line/ field in a table has to be sourced. This is the only possibility to avoid problems if certain information types come from different sources at a later date, thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:39, 2 March 2011 (UTC)
No problem, I added the citations. Commisar Gegnillum 16:43, 2 March 2011 (UTC)

IG Vehicle Images

Yeah, I added a whole heap of Tyranid images as well. I should be able to do some more IG Heroes soon. Plus the Space Wolves and Dark Eldar images from 5E.--Ytokes 04:57, 23 March 2011 (CET)

Nice, I'll take care of the IG infantry if you don't mind(takes the workload off of you ;).Commisar Gegnillum 12:59, 23 March 2011 (CET)
I've actually already got those on my computer all sized up and ready so ill upload them at some point in the next week. (If you havnt done so yet). So dont worry too much. What id actually love to see is the Gaunt's Ghosts series sorted out.... hint hint :P--Ytokes 06:32, 26 March 2011 (CET)

Grey Knights & M'Kar

I'm new to this so, I'm not entirely sure how this works, so excuse me if I went about this wrongly, and yeah would be great if he could post it on my page so that I can hereonin. I found this from the new Grey Knights codex and thought that it might be useful for the pages, especially since I thought that the pages haven't been updated for a while. Titan 817

Its ok; you can view it via the login page actually. Also, type"~ ~ ~ ~" to put your signature, its easier. Commisar Gegnillum 16:14, 5 April 2011 (CEST)

Cheers! I'll read it over and redo the pages later in that case. Titan 817 16:26, 5 April 2011 (CEST)

RE: IG Anthologies

The Hammer of the Emperor is more an Omnibus isnt it? Thus it should go over at Imperial Guard (Novel Series). The next anthology to be put out is the Victories of the Space marines and im not going to have my hands on that for some time so I cant fill in any info on it, just saying in case you have access to it. In fact I might go and add Hammer of the Emperor to the Imperaial Guard page and the Necromunda Print on demand omnibus to its page as well.--Ytokes 04:48, 12 April 2011 (CEST)

I'll put up the base page for Victories, just for the sake of completeness.--Mob 03:50, 13 April 2011 (CEST)

Not trying to be negative but is that the only picture of a painted Macharius tank out there? Because this one does have that horrible label on it.--Ytokes 02:29, 28 May 2011 (CEST)

There are others, for all the variants, on Forgeworld. Feel free to add/change the pictures; I was tired when I first uploaded it. Commisar Gegnillum 13:50, 29 May 2011 (CEST)

Royal Validians

Hammer of the Emperor is the Anthology title. Whats the actual story name of the source?:

 • Gunheads
 • Ice Guard
 • Desert Raiders
 • Mercy Run
 • A Blind Eye
 • Waiting Death

I think that it would be better to accurately source as I see too often sourcing done like Gaunts Ghosts Series or Eisenhorn Series and I just think that it is laziness which is deemable heresy for the trouble it causes later users.--Ytokes 14:02, 16 June 2011 (CEST)

In cases like that is is actually mandatory to name the story title. Too confusing otherwise. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 14:17, 16 June 2011 (CEST)
Its both from Ice Guard and Waiting Death; I'll put parenthesis in the sources saying the short story its from. Commisar Gegnillum 14:42, 16 June 2011 (CEST)
Out of interest, is that Waiting Death story the one involving Straken of the Catachans?--Ytokes 07:49, 17 June 2011 (CEST)
Indeed it is; its also written by the same person who wrote Ice Guard. Commisar Gegnillum 13:38, 17 June 2011 (CEST)

Tyranid Template

Hi, I saw the Template used for the Dark Eldar army list, and realized that the Tyranids don't have one themselves while it is a useful tool. I don't know what to do with the template now that I've made it though, do I make a new page for it, and how do I get an easy tempalte code for it...?

Also as a side question, on My talk page all the font is getting smaller. Is this because there is too many characters on the page or what?

Thanks.--Hive Node 00:36, 23 June 2011 (CEST)

I've created this template here so you dont need to woryy, and i've told Hive Node. With your idea of a Blood Ravens Workbench I think that you should create it on a side page of your User page. To do this you search for User:Commissar Gegnillum/example
This way your page would be tidier. Thanks, Just trying to help!--Ytokes 06:34, 23 June 2011 (CEST)
Nice job Ytokes on the Nid template; also, thanks for your suggestion, I'll make a redirect to there. Commisar Gegnillum 14:15, 23 June 2011 (CEST)

Blood Ravens workbench

Hey. So I moved the info that we are speculating on to a Notes section. This section can and should be expanded with more stuff. I propose that we write up everything that links the Ravens and the Sons together here, sourcing accurately, and from there we can check it and discuss what perhaps counts as 'in-universe' as opposed to us explaining the implied connections. Although having said that, I can't really think of anything that explicitly states the BR are thought to be 1KSons in-universe other than their IA. So, what I can think of right now aside from the motto and the raven head is their colour scheme, the pre-heresy red shoulder plate excavated from a BR base, the whole 'Son of Ahriman' business with Rhamah, the 'raven of blood' prophecy and - at a stretch - Remuel Arvida's name being similar to Azariah Vidya. Anything else I should add to the list? Cheers, mate.--Mob 02:57, 25 June 2011 (CEST)

In my mind thats everything, however where is the whole pre-heresy shoulderplate thing from? Soulstorm? Dark Crusade?--Ytokes 03:04, 25 June 2011 (CEST)
2nd BR book. The BR have an outpost that turns out to have been built on top of a pre-existing structure that, when excavated, has a red shoulder-plate with insigina so faded it can barely be seen in it. There's also a thing with the Eldar where they worked with these ancient red-armoured marines back when the Imperium was young or something, I'm going on memory here as I read the book only once and long ago - it's by Goto! --Mob 03:21, 25 June 2011 (CEST)
Cheers guys, keep up the good work. BTW, Seraphis I recall is a Librarian, and also might want to add something about the Word Bearers or TS on there(Eliphas hints at the BR's origins; forgot which section that occurs in). Commisar Gegnillum 03:59, 25 June 2011 (CEST)
Oh ok Mob, I have read them, but they were the first 40K books I ever read, and theres been a few in between since then. Also probably didnt pay much attention. I might remember Eliphas saying something in Dark Crusade, but thats huge speculation right there.--Ytokes 04:18, 25 June 2011 (CEST)
Ok I found that the dialoge(video upload [1]) was during the Blood Raven stronghold mission. Also guys, I made an overflow page specifically for the BR edits (its over here) Commisar Gegnillum 14:27, 25 June 2011 (CEST)
I've noticed a fair few spelling and phrasing errors. Do you want me to add my eye to the workbench? Lord Parvus 07 August 2011
Please feel free to take a pass at brushing it up, then we'll see if we can get Inquisitor S to update the actual page. If rephrasing, please remember brevity is better than being long-winded (though I'm not one to talk!), to avoid directly copying the sources and to make it interesting to read rather than a dry recounting. Oh, and we don't correct British spelling to American or vice versa unless the bulk of the article is one way or the other. Thanks!--Mob 06:03, 7 August 2011 (CEST)
Many long sentences to resolve, have worked on some errors but plenty more to pick through. Lord Parvus 07 August 2011
Great work guys! If I have the correct resources, I'll try to make some edits, but sadly most of my books are Guard-based. Tell me when you have finished making the revisons, and I'll ask Inquisitor S. to update the page.
I'd like to try and get this updated now, tbh (we can always have a further fluff/spell/grammar trawl later), because people are talking about the BR/Sons issue on the boards again. Thanks.--Mob 16:28, 11 August 2011 (CEST)
Indeed, old posts on WarSeer are being ressurected because of this issue. I'll try to run it through Inquisitor S., and see what he says. Commisar Gegnillum 17:35, 11 August 2011 (CEST)

How did you find the last spam entry? I could not see it on the recent changes page. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:28, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

That's where I found it; it says you deleted the page. Commisar Gegnillum 18:23, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

Odd, it somehow vanished. Eh..... maybe a glitch? Commisar Gegnillum 18:25, 9 August 2011 (CEST)

I have noticed that a user will be created E.g.

10 August 2011

 • (User creation log); 01:22 . .Mokelvtanya (Talk | contribs) New user account

9 August 2011

 • (User creation log); 22:13 . . VincentMcdonaldmoa (Talk | contribs) New user account
 • (User creation log); 21:12 . . Rockmoonaguilar (Talk | contribs) New user account

And then the next thing that appears is them being blocked by Inq S for spamming. I think that the system simply doesnt show the spam pages creation and deletion if it is caught fast enough. Maybe something to do with automatic updating or backing up the data on the server maybe? Not really to big a deal in these circumstances though, as the matters are resolved.--Ytokes 12:17, 10 August 2011 (CEST)

Yes, I just don't want to overlook spam pages, which somehow (how? inclusion of some sort of stealth code?) do not show up and therefore can not be patrolled. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 12:46, 10 August 2011 (CEST)
And some of the more obvious spammers are actually terminated before they can spam, they are not that good in choosing convincing user names. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 12:49, 10 August 2011 (CEST)
It is disturbing news if spammers can create spam pages without it showing up on the Recent changes page, but I got to the spam page by looking at the recent changes, so it could have just been a glitch. I guess we need to be on the look-out for any "stealthed" spam; won't searching parts of their titles(such as "how to", "MainpagePhp", etc.) lead us to them?
I personally highly doubt any use of a stealth code. I more so believe it to be a quirk of the server.--Ytokes 09:22, 11 August 2011 (CEST)
We'll keep an eye on it, for now it seems to have been an aberration. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 09:51, 11 August 2011 (CEST)
It seems that when ever a spam page is deleted, it is removed from the logs. Doesn't seem like any stealth code as of yet, unless you found the recent spam pages via another route? Also, how long have you been on WarSeer? Commisar Gegnillum 15:37, 11 August 2011 (CEST)
Deleted articles generally disappear from the recent changes list (but remain on the corresponding logs). Concerning your other question: according to my profile since 2005 ;) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:03, 11 August 2011 (CEST)
Ok, so I guess the case is solved? As Ytokes said, its highly unlikely there is any sort of stealth code being inserted, but we will still watch out I guess. Commisar Gegnillum 16:19, 11 August 2011 (CEST)

See here. You can't take picture from the German or any other Lex without checking the source. This picture did not even have a source, so it was removed from both Lex. Second: your claimed animosity with the Death Guard certainly is not from "Angels of Darkness". --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 12:41, 22 August 2011 (CEST)

I was unaware of this fluff-mistake, as I my role with the Harbingers was that I moved information from the Imperial Harbingers to the Harbingers page, and I had also looked at the German Lexicanum to see what they had on the Harbingers. I do not have any of the sources listed on the page except the Battlefleet Gothic Rulebook, so I was not able to check for any mistakes. Commisar Gegnillum 15:08, 22 August 2011 (CEST)
Please do never move information you can not verify, it can damage the reputation of the Lexicanum if we introduce cascading errors. Thanks :) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 16:13, 22 August 2011 (CEST)
No problem, have a nice day :) Commisar Gegnillum 16:18, 22 August 2011 (CEST)

Spammers/ Spamsuspects

If somebody DOES spam don't put the tag for spamsuspect. That's only for suspected spammers, thanks. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 19:55, 7 September 2011 (CEST)
