Officer Crest
An Officer crest[1] was used by officers of the Legiones Astartes during the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy. Centurions used a horizontal crest[2], while Captains wore vertical crests.[3]
Valour Crest
The Valour Crest is a Space Marine Honour Badge awarded by the Ultramarines chapter and possibly other chapters as well. It must be earned through acts of near suicidal bravery.[4b]
Notable recipients include Captain Cato Sicarius, who won the right to wear his crest for his actions during the Siege of Fort Telrendar, when he was first through the breach.[4a][4b]
