The Vanguard were a veteran division within the Adeptus Astartes.

Overview

This Veteran Squad consisted of members from the Chapter's 1st Company who were taught to be completely immersed in the art of close quarter combat. Thus, most of them have completely lengthy service rotations in the Chapter's Assault squads where their skills were tested and honed in the crucible of bloody melee combat on a thousand worlds.
