Waaagh! Rekkfist was an Ork Waaagh! in 995.M41 that came into conflict with the Eldar Craftworld Iyanden.[1]

Prelude

As Iyanden broached the Antellas System, the runes of Farseer Taec Silvereye predicted that an Ork Waaagh! led by Warboss Rekkfist would soon be upon their Craftworld. Given the size of the Waaagh! in their path, it was clear that Iyanden's very survival could be at stake. The only hope for Iyanden lay in a preemptive strikes against the Orks, and Prince Yriel and Spiritseer Iyanna put aside their differences to lead the effort. Soon enough, the full forces of Iyanden were engaging the Ork Fleet.[1]

The Battle for Antellas

Easily outmaneuvering the numerically superior but sluggish Ork fleet, Yriel launched a daring attack on the ramshackle shipyards the Orks had erected about Antellas Prime. After Yriel's forces neutralized the shipyards defenses, Iyanna took her own forces of Wraith-constructs, Crimson Hunters, Striking Scorpions, and Rangers down to the surface of the planet. As Orks rarely saw any Eldar before coming under vicious attack in forest-ambushes, news of a supernatural enemy spread among the greenskin ranks. Being a pragmatist, Rekkfist ordered the forests be set alight and the ancient woodlands of Antellas Prime were set ablaze.[1]

Meanwhile in space, Iyanden was having troubles of its own. Yriel's hit-and-run attacks destroyed or crippled many Ork vessels, but soon a massive Space Hulk emerged from the Warp, something that Silvereye's runes had been unable to predict due to the unpredictable nature of both the Orks and Immaterium. Since Hive Fleet Kraken, the defences of Iyanden were shadows of its former self and Yriel was forced to rush his fleet in defence of his Craftworld rather than aid Iyanna's forces on Antellas Prime. The massive Ork hulk shattered the outer defenses of Iyanden, and soon enough Boarding Torpedoes smashed into the Craftworld's hull. Silvereye mustered the defenses, directing the efforts of Iyanden's ghost warriors that remained on Iyanden.[1]

Meanwhile on Antellas Prime, Iyanna Arienal had a surprise of her own when she sent a telepathic signal into the mountains to summon her eighty Hemlock Wraithfighters. The Wraithfighters devastated Ork forces, who were quickly thrown into disarray. Iyanna now threw her full ground forces into the fray. However, Rekkfist had yet another trick up his sleeves, and had his Mekboyz activate Tellyporta arrays that brought wave of fresh Orks in as reinforcements. Now hopelessly outnumbered. Iyanna and her forces prepared to make their final stand.{Fn|1}}

On Iyanden, the Craftworld's garrison had become overwhelmed by the sheer number of Greenskins arriving on the Craftworld. Silvereye and Yriel both foresaw no hope for their Craftworld. However, it was then that unlikely help for the Eldar arrived. A Webway Portal opened up and Dark Eldar from the Kabal of the Wraithkind and Cult of the Flayed Hand opened fire upon the Ork hordes. Amazingly enough the Dark Eldar kin of Commorragh had come to aid their Craftworld cousins. Taking advantage of the situation, Silvereye ordered his own remaining forces forward and the Greenskins on Iyanden were decimated. With the battle on Iyanden all but won and now free to move his forces, Yriel rushed to Antellas Prime to aid Iyanna's embattled troops.[1]

Yriel arrived on Antellas Prime to find that Rekkfist's Tellyportas had frequently malfunctioned, sending new Ork forces in chaotic patterns across the planet, something that bought Iyanna precious time. Yriel's forces arrived in Vampire Raiders to relieve the embattled Eldar alongside Dark Eldar Raiders, Ravagers, and Wyches. At their head came Yriel himself, the Spear of Twilight in hand. After a vicious three day battle, Waaagh! Rekkfist had been broken and the Warboss himself slain at Yriel's hand. Yriel would have died too at the hand of Rekkfists Stompa had he not been saved by two Wraithknights.[1]

Rekkfist's lieutenant, Snarka, had tried to take command of the situation after the boss's death and threw squadrons of Dakkajets into the fight. Iyanna had her Wraithguards form testudos around the living Eldar, protecting them against strafing runs by Ork aircraft. The Dark Eldar deployed Razorwing Jetfighters to take command of the skies, decimating Dakkajet formations. In the end, after much toil, the remaining Ork forces were shattered.[1]

After Iyanden was saved, the Council of Seers questioned the Dark Eldar as to why they intervened, and they replied simply that they gain extreme entertainment from watching Iyanden's angst-ridden use of necromancy.[2]
