The War of Statues was a campaign waged by the Word Bearers.[1]
The Iconoclastic Brotherhood invaded the world of Conqueror's Due. The planet was once host to a great Imperial triumph, and is covered with statues hundreds of feet high depicting the Primarchs and the Emperor. The Word Bearers and their cultists defaced and destroyed many statues as battle raged. The Cyclopeans, an Imperial Titan Legion from nearby Vellung, counterattacked from enormous bulk landers and inflicted a grievous toll on the Word Bearers – though their Titans were in the end defeated after the Chaos Space Marines performed a grand ritual in the name of Tzeentch that imbued the disfigured statues with a semblance of life.[1]
