The War of the Place of Union occured at the close of the Tau Empire's First Phase Expansion. A Tau fleet out of Dal'yth came across Ork ships firing on Kroot Warspheres. The Kroot were defending their enclave on Krath. The Tau ships were drawn into the battle, and the combination of Kroot and Tau warships dispatched the Orks. This began an extermination campaign against the Orks throughout Kroot space. The Fire Warriors were so impressed with the Kroot that this led to the Kroot being invited to join the Tau Empire. Anghkor Prok, Kroot Shaper, swore the Kroot allegiance to the Tau Empire.
