'''Bureaucrats''' (occassionally also called ''Super-Administrators'' or ''Super-Admins'' for short) are the group of Lexicanum editors with the most comprehensive access to the wiki tools. i.e. an access that exceeds that of "normal" editors and also of [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Administrators|Administrators]]. They are tasked with running, maintaining and safeguarding the Lexicanum.

==Mission==
The mission of a ''Bureaucrat'' is to maintain a smooth running of the Lexicanum, watch over the project as a whole, make far-reaching decisions after consulting other ''Bureaucrats'', [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Administrators|Administrators]] and normal editors (when appropriate and necessary). They are also tasked with intervening when there are problems with or between other editors and [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Administrators|Administrators]]. As "Super-Administrators" this covers all areas that "normal" ''Administrators'' take care of, e.g. vandalism, non-compliance with Lexicanum rules, guidelines or standards, unacceptable behaviour, disputes necessitating mediation or a ruling etc. In addition they also have the means to perform specific actions on Lexicanum pages that are not open to normal editors or even ''Administrators''.

''Bureaucrats'' serve as the go-to persons for [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Administrators|Administrators]] when specific problems necessitate an intervention going beyond their normal area of expertise or responsability. But ''Bureaucrats'' can also be contacted by normal editors in case of problems with ''Administrators''. In general however issues should be escalated in the usual way which is ''Editor -> Administrator -> Bureaucrat''.

==Where to find and how to contact a Bureaucrat?==
You can consult the [[Special:ListUsers/bureaucrat|List of Bureucrats here]]. Pay attention to the fact that ''Bureaucrats'' like all other volunteers here have a private life and no obligation whatsoever to be available 24/7. So sometimes (e.g. you have waited a reasonable amount of time for a reaction) you should try to contact another ''Bureaucrat'' if your first choice does not respond. This does however not mean that you should "carpet bomb" ''all Bureaucrats'' at once on your first contact attempt, that just creates confusion, thank you. For practical and administrative reasons the day-to-day running of the Lexicanum is (mostly) done by ''Bureaucrat'' [[User:Inquisitor S.|Inquisitor S.]], so any editor or ''Administrator'' should first try to contact him via his [[User talk:Inquisitor S.|User Talk Page]] or via the the Lexicanum's [[Warhammer_40k_-_Lexicanum:Discord_Server|Discord server]] - unless there is a specific reason for contacting one of the other ''Bureaucrats''.

Be aware that ''Bureaucrats'' listed here whose names appear in '''red''' (indicating that their [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:User Pages|User Pages]] are empty) should ''not be contacted'' as they are currently listed as inactive and will therefore not be available.

==What to do in case of problems with a Bureaucrat?==
As ''Bureaucrats'' essentially ''run'' the Lexicanum and because some of them have been doing it for such a long time (in some cases they even form part of the original founders) in a certain way they impersonate the essence of what the Lexicanum actually is. That means that if an editor or [[Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum:Administrators|Administrator]] runs into serious trouble with a ''Bureaucrat'' this means that this "trouble" is with the Lexicanum system itself. And it is '''quite''' improbable that in a case of ''System'' Vs. ''Editor'' the ''System'' will decide against itself. Nevertheless ''Bureaucrats'' are to differing degrees still liable to each other, therefore in case of relevant issues with one ''Bureaucrat'' '''another''' ''Bureaucrat'' should try to mediate.

It should go without saying that if an editor calls in another ''Bureaucrat'' and it turns out that his/her accusations against a ''Bureaucrat'' are unfounded or even phoney that this ''will'' have consequences for the reporting editor. This should not discourage editors from reporting problems with ''Bureaucrats'' but they should make really, really, REALLY sure that their case is very serious, superbly-documented and extremely logical. And editors should also be aware that ''Bureaucrats'' - like everybody else - are entitled to personal opinions, so you should distinguish between ''official'' and ''personal'' statements by ''Bureaucrats''.
