When the [[T'au Empire]] entered diplomatic talks with the [[Seriphon Unity]] in 789.[[M41]], the [[Jericho Reach]]'s [[Deathwatch]] forces sought to stop this from happening. As the meeting occurred on Seriphos Secundus, several of it was attacked by the Deathwatch's [[Kill-Team]]s attacked it and , who assassinated the T'au and Unity's representatives. Both sides blamed each other for the deaths and the renegades and [[Xenos]] then plunged into open warfare against each other.{{Fn|1}}
