Perturabo – master of siegecraft, and executioner of Olympia. Long has he lived in the shadow of his more favoured primarch brothers, frustrated by the mundane and ignominious duties which regularly fall to his Legion. When Fulgrim offers him the chance to lead an expedition in search of an ancient and destructive xenos weapon, the Iron Warriors and the Emperor's Children unite and venture deep into the heart of the great warp-rift known only as "the Eye". Theogonies
As a boy, Perturabo's first memories were of climbing a sheer cliff in the rain. When he was able to come to a spot to rest, he looked up and saw the stars. Among them, he was able to sense something watching him, a malevolent presence within the immaterium that was like a hunter stalking him, and he could see it manifested in the Eye of Terror. He suddenly became weak and began to fall from the cliff. Grabbing the cliff, he felt as if he was abandoned to die and that it was a cruel fate. At that moment, a rope was lowered to him and men in armor offered to pull him up. He rejected the offer and climbed by himself to the top of the cliff and saw the fortress Lochos there. The guards commanded him to go no further, and the boy questioned them, learning that Dammekos was the master. The boy then commanded the warriors to take him to the tyrant, and they obeyed. The boy then questioned the troops as to the nature of the eye and they were confused, unable to see it himself.[2]
