Interrogator Luce Spinoza, wielding the Argent[2]

The Argent is a Power Maul that is owned by the Interrogator Luce Spinoza, and was once an Imperial Fists Crozius Arcanum.[1]

History

The weapon had been a relic in the Chapter's armoury for a thousand years and it been proclaimed, that for an outsider to handle the Argent, even to touch it, would earn the Imperial Fists' wrath. This changed, when the Crozius Arcanum was wielded by Chaplain Erastus, as the Imperial Fists came to aid the Imperium in ending a rebellion on Forfoda. As the battle to save the world raged, Erastus was charged with leading a squadron to kill the rebellion's second in command, Naiao Servia. The Inquisitor Lord Joffen Tur, interfered with those plans however, as he sought to learn why the rebellion began. He wanted Servia to be captured and in order to ensure that, the Inquisitor sent his Interrogator, Luce Spinoza, to accompany the Chaplain and the squadron. When they launched their attack, however, they learned that the rebellion's leadership worshiped the Chaos God Nurgle, and the Imperial Fists and Interrogator began fighting rebels infected with the God's foul power. In the battle that followed, Erastus was disarmed by the infected adjutant Servia and soon began to be overpowered by her. With the rest of the squadron unable to reach him in time, Spinoza acted quickly by grabbing the Chaplain's fallen Crozius Arcanum and striking a blow, that broke Servia's spine. She was injured wielding the powerful Argent, though, and afterwards, the Imperial Fists captured Servia and brought Spinoza to a medicae to heal from her wounds. As the Interrogator recovered, a decision was made about her fate, for touching the sacred Crozius Arcanum. The Chapter eventually decided, however, that since she wielded the Argent to save Erastus' life, it would be given to Spinoza as a gift. The former Crozius Arcanum was then heavily modified, so that a human could safely use it. Erastus then later presented the Argent to Spinoza and began training with her, on how to properly fight with the weapon.[1]
