Astador is a Chaplain of the Mortificators Chapter.^[1a][2] He is described as having dark skin, dark eyes and dark braids woven with colourful crystals. ^[1a]

Prior to his admission into the Chapter he was a savage barbarian of his home Feral World of Posul, having collected 300 skulls for himself. He was eventually recruited by the Astartes overseers of Posul, rising from a mere Aspirant to an eventual Chaplain.^[1a]

In 999.M41 he led a company of the Mortifactors to Tarsis Ultra to aid the Ultramarines in a battle against the Tyranids, deploying his forces from the Strike Cruiser Mortis Probati alongside the Ultramarines 4th Company, Deathwatch and Lord Inquisitor Fidus Kryptman. During that time, Astador bonded with Ultramarines Captain Uriel Ventris and Sergeant Learchus Abantes.^[1b]
