Auxiliaries are troops that act in support of the army they serve. The Tau for instance incorporate auxiliary human troops they have recruited from conquered worlds during the Damocles Crusade.Other examples of Tau auxilliries are the Kroot and the Vespids.
In addition to Tau auxilaries, the Imperium also has been recorded as using Auxiliaries. The imperium has used Mercenary Kroot, albeit in a limited fashion. In addition, Abhuman regiments such as Ogryns and Ratlings, or other specialised forces, such as Rough Riders and Imperial Psykers (particularly Primaris Psykers and Sanctioned Psykers), who are broken into smaller units and assigned to other regiments may be classed as Auxiliaries.
