Battle of Crimson Snows
The Battle of Crimson Snows occurred when the Murderghosts Warband raided the Imperium world of Midgardia.[1]
Due to Midgardia's proximity to Fenris, the Space Wolves of Wolf Lord Egil Iron Wolf took part in its defense against the Warband. However, even the ferocity of the Space Wolves was not enough to stop the Murderghosts' lighting fast raid before the Warband departed. In the aftermath of the attack, one of Midgardia's principal cities was left in ruins and twenty of Iron Wolf's finest warriors were killed. Adding to the Iron Wolf's anger was that the deceased Space Wolves' heads had been taken as trophies by the Murderghosts; the Wolf Lord vowed to avenge this insult no matter the cost.[1]
