The General Structure

The Codex Tyranids is an expansion book for the Games Workshop Table Top game Warhammer 40,000. This book was published for the first time in 1995, and is for the 2nd Edition of Warhammer 40,000. Stories in this codex are written by author Jonathan Green.

The book has 87 pages, including the pages of colour images of miniatures. At the end of the book there is a catalogue of miniatures available for purchase at the time of publication. The cover is printed in colour, depicting a hive tyrant, flanked by a Carnifex and Lictor, leading a group of Gaunts.

This book contains complete army lists for both a Tyranid army or a Genestealer infestation, also known as a Genestealer Cult. Further special rules and an armoury, referred to as biomorphs, were included.
