Brother-Captain Corvane Valar was commander of Raven Guard's 5th Battle Company during 13th Black Crusade and Kathur Reclamation. Under his command the Raven Guard deployed half of 5th Company and a strike cruiser Second Shadow. Captain Valar had fought with Cadian 88th Shock Troops during siege of Kasr Vallock1a and formed some sort of personal relationship with its commander, colonel Josuan Lockwood. During the Reclamation he ordered to launch a fake assault1b on Death Guard's battleship Terminus Est and instead of carrying out an boarding action in futile attempt to delay the destruction of Imperial fleet in orbit of Kathur. Covered by this fake assault, all Battle-Brothers conducted planetfall and begin their hit and run attacks against advancing Death Guard Traitor Astartes.1c The fate of captain Valar is not clear, but it is highly possible he was slain by Typhus.
