Fist of Iron (battleship)

Targetdrone.gif This article is about the battleship; for the relic, see Gauntlet of Menestus.

The Fist of Iron was a Gloriana Class Battleship of the Iron Hands during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.

Overview

The flagship of Primarch Ferrus Manus himself, the vessel was constructed at Luna's shipyards and was made to the standards of the Primarch. Intentionally designed to mimic the environment of Medusa, the vessel was cold, bleak, dimly lit, and the atmosphere recycled constant bazalt dust throughout the air. However like Medusa, the chilly vessel became warmer the closer one went to its center.[2] Every aspect of the ship was finely detailed and embroidered with Iron Hands livery, with notable areas of the Fist of Iron included the reception hall known as the Anvilarium and Ferrus' personal chambers and metal workshop, known as the Iron Forge[1].

The Fist of Iron took part in the war against the Diasporex. Later, Fulgrim confronted Ferrus Manus aboard the vessel in his attempt to sway him to join the forces of Horus in rebellion. The two Primarchs came to blows, and the Emperor's Children Flagship Pride of the Emperor crippled the Fist of Iron as Fulgrim made his escape from the Iron Hands vessel. With the Fist of Iron badly damaged and under repairs, the Strike Cruiser Ferrum became the temporary flagship of the Iron Hands for the war on Isstvan V. The ultimate fate of the Fist of Iron remains unknown.[1]
