Ganymede was an Imperial world[1], until experimentation with the Squat technology of Warp-cores led to the place being "lost" to the Imperium "forever" and becoming "the eternal habitation of abomination"[2]. The Imperium since then prevents anybody from setting foot on the the world and to ward space travel away from it.[1]
