Ghenna, known during the Great Crusade as Ninety-Three Fifteen, is a world of the Galaxy.

History

The Human population of Ghenna endured Old Night with a fairly advanced society, but became overcome with genetic diseases. By the time of the Great Crusade less than a thousand Ghennans remained, all kept alive in life-pods. Each Ghennan in turn commanded thousands upon thousands of artificial Simulacrum which resembled normal Humans, creating a society of billions of synthetic beings.[1a]

Though Ghenna initially peacefully accepted Imperial rule in the Great Crusade, shortly after they rebelled. When a World Eaters force arrived to conduct compliance, the World Eaters immediately massacred the Ghennan emissaries when they discovered their artificial nature. What followed was a hasty invasion, spurred on by the World Eaters fears that should they fail to conquer the planet in 31 hours Angron would again initiate decimation against his own Legion. The billions of Ghennan Simulacrum initially were able to overwhelm the World Eaters through sheer weight of numbers, and the Astartes were unable to conquer the planet within Angron's time limit.[1b] However thanks to Gahlan Surlak both localizing the source of the Ghennan command and reverse-engineering their technology to perfect the installation of the Butcher's Nails within the Legion, the World Eaters under Angron himself were able to launch a devastating counterattack. The World Eaters were able to fight their way to the central command bunkers of the Ghennans, who pleaded to simply be left alone by the Imperials. However the World Eaters showed no mercy and massacred all they came across.[1c]

At this point, Centurion Mago organized a revolt against Angron over fears that the whole legion would be corrupted by the Butcher's Nails. On the surface of Ghenna, Mago and his loyalist mainly Terran ex-War Hounds clashed with Angron, Kharn, and his post-Butcher's Nails World Eaters. Mago was slain by Kharn, and the rebellion quickly fell apart. With the Legion again unified, Angron oversaw the complete annihilation of the planet's population in a single night.[1d]
