Gideon Ravenor

Gideon Ravenor is an Imperial Inquisitor of the Ordo Xenos, raised to Inquisitor in 346 M41 , he is a level delta latent psyker, though this is thought to have increased. He was one the brightest and most promising protégés of Inquisìtor Gregor Eisenhorn. Ravenor was serving as an Interrogator to Eisenhorn in 339 M41 when an Apotropaic Congress was called on Thracian Primaris to examine thirty three Alpha Level heretic psykers taken captive through the combined efforts of Inquisitors Lyko, Voke and Heldane. Inquisitor Ryan also took part in this action and part of the parade was made for his memory. He was killed in action. Ravenor attended the parade of The Triumph on Thracian Primaris, celebrating the victory of the campaign which involved the capture of these psykers, along with his master Eisenhorn. However, the pilots of the Lightning fighters conducting fly-overs went rogue and attacked the crowd. The fighters were eventually either shot down or crashed, but unfortunately one of these crashed into the group of Inquisitors arrayed for the parade, killing more than 80 Inquisitors and assorted staff. Eisenhorn was safe, but Ravenor was caught in the blast, and suffered horrific burns over 100% of his body. He was severely crippled by the injury, with only his brain remaining fully functional. He lives by way of a force chair, which is partly operated by his heightened psychic powers. He uses his psionic abilities to compensate for what he lost due to his injuries, he is able to produce normal speech from his mind alone, control his chair, and also supplement his ships stealth abilities using his powers. Despite his injuries, Ravenor survived and went on to become one of the most successful inquisitors of his time. His ability to continue functioning after his debilitating injuries was due entirely to his awesome psychic powers.

He has successfully prosecuted a number of very notable cases, such as the Gomek Violation and the Cervan-Holman Affair, and also participated in the downfall of Pontius Glaw on the Daemon planet of Ghul.

Ravenor is a highly respected Imperial thinker, author and poet, and his works are read by the higher strata of society throughout the Imperium. Published works include the Spheres of Longing, published shortly after the incident on Thracian Primaris.

Ravenor's Inquisitorial methods primarily involve stealth and infiltration using highly skilled agents, closely supervised by the Inquisitor himself.

Ravenor has also had a number of dealings with the Eldar, including Farseers, this is an association he endeavours to keep from the Ordo as a whole.
