Colonel Greiss was in command of the Imperial Guard 2nd Catachan force, which was involved in the pacification of Balur. The campaign lasted for four years and he was severely wounded on several occasions.
He is most famous for his association with the Ogryn Nork Deddog. Nork saved Greiss's life several times, including carrying him from Breakback Hill when most of Greiss's body was shattered.
