Hadrak's Folly is an Imperium Nihilus Jungle World, that is being invaded by the T'au Empire.[1]

History

It was initially named Hadrakia by its founder, the Rogue Trader Goyle Hadrak, in late M41, after he discovered the world was rich in the valuable mineral Symanthite. Hadrak used the mineral to reinforce his power armor and became a tyrant ruler afterwards, as he believed the Symanthite made him invulnerable. The Rogue Trader was proven wrong, though, when he was slain by his crew with a Symanthite-edged dagger. Hadrakia would then become known as Hadrak's Folly and was eventually ruled over by a group of Rogue Traders known as the Council of the Crystal Blade. When the Great Rift opened, the world became part of the Imperium Nihilus and later became targeted by the T'au Empire's Fifth Sphere of Expansion. The Xenos sought to claim its Symanthite for themselves and sent a Water Caste diplomatic envoy to Hadrak's Folly in an attempt to peacefully annex the world. However the Council of the Crystal Blade rejected the offer and killed the T'au's diplomat.[1]

In response, the T'au Empire then sought to forcefully take the world, but were unable to dispatch a full invasion force due to their commitment to other war zones in the Chalnath Expanse. This led the T'au to instead wage a guerrilla war with Kroot hunting packs and Pathfinders in an attempt to force the Council of the Crystal Blade to peacefully surrender. Instead the Council sent out numerous distress calls and, though most were swallowed by the Great Rift, one was answered by a ragged Imperial Battlefleet. It soon arrived above the world and immediately dispatched General Morl Rachnor and a complement of Catachan Jungle Fighters against the T'au Empire's forces.[1]
